Perfect for parents, grandparents, or any loved one, this keepsake captures the beauty of growing hands in stone.
Each pair (adult + child) will choose from two meaningful project options:
Classic handprint plaque (best for younger children)
Painted design using underglazes (a creative alternative for older children)
We provide pre-cut clay slabs ready for your design, and our instructors will guide you every step of the way. After class, we’ll take care of the drying, glazing, and kiln-firing process — all you need to do is show up and make memories.

Instructor Bio:
Your teacher Heather Szundy has been working with kids for 33 years in many capacities: a nanny, a substitute teacher, a parent leader to Boy Scouts of America, yoga teacher but primarily as an adventure tourism guide in Alaska for 20 years for the business she and her husband created, Ascending Path Guide Service. She has had thousands of clients over the decades of guiding large and small groups around the world and in the wilderness of Alaska. Her passion is teaching and sharing to anyone but especially to her son. Art has been a long time love since winning a blue ribbon in handbuilt pottery in high school as a freshman in 1991. Since the early 90’s she has been making jewelry, drawing and painting. It was on the flight to Antarctica in 2003 she learned to knit and then on “the Ice” tried throwing pottery in the studio at McMurdo Station. Since then she has knitted, made bath products and jewelry and sold them at art fairs in Alaska. One of her primary roles within her mom and pop business was as a graphic designer for 20 years and working in the art department for films and productions. Since retiring from Alaska mountain guiding she has been able to focus on art & pottery full time. She relaunched her art business from 2010, Rock Paper Scissors, which now sells pottery and jewelry made at Mud Lake Studios in Bend. Her art is sold at Cosa Cura in Bend and has been featured in First Friday downtown and pop up shops in and around Bend.
