Naughty Cups One Day Workshop - Valentines Day!
LOOKING FOR A NEW HUNK [of clay] IN YOUR LIFE??!!
Saturday February 14th 4pm & 7pm
____________________________________________________________
It’s that time of year again. Overbooked restaurants and boxes of chocolates. Hard candies and red silk scanties. Overpriced flowers and the gift of your best guess…
It’s time to take back the day! Make it putty in your hands! Find new passions and reignite old ones! Join ceramic artist Michelle Horstman of Miche’s Pieces this Valentine’s Day for a carefree evening of lips, folds, and sensual silica…
Wrap those strong hands around a voluptuous hunk of clay and give it a squeeze… stretch it out and ball it up… explore your curiosities and release your frustrations! Bring your Demi or your Swayze for an evening that actually gets the blood flowing. Treat yourself and meet others who don’t need anyone to tell them what to do with their time of love. Or come with a group of your most defiant friends and dig in. This evening is what you make of it!
But whether you come with your lover or your friends, or are just looking for some much-needed solo time, remember: don’t put anything to your lips that doesn’t have a little curve. Because straight lines are for suckers.
Mud Lake Studios, Valentine’s Day, Feb 14th 4pm & 7pm
Wine and clay provided. Bring your most open self.
2 hr session time
$60 per Cup (Can purchase multiple cups in the workshop)
Age: 18 and up, 17 and under with Adult supervision
Premise breakdown of class: Participants will be given the tools, slips, and extra clay to decorate a moist cup form over 2 hours. Slips are used like paints would be. Various carving tools can be used to create designs, drawings, and textures. There will also be some extra clay for body parts to be added. There will be sample cups displayed and short demos of how to carve, paint, add, and form. After the session, Michelle will fire and glaze the Naughty Cups. Pick-up will be about 10 days after the session.
Instructor Bio: Michelle, aka Miche, is from a small gold rush town in the mountains of Northern California. She took her first ceramics class in high school and has been in love with it ever since. She joined Mud Lake in 2022. This is when her craft really took shape.
Her functional and occasionally humorous pieces reflect things she loves; mugs for tea, pots for plants, and things to make a home comfy and bright. Her inspiration, which is ever evolving, comes from mother natures colors and simplistic beauty.
