5:30pm to 8:00pm

550 SW Industrial #194, Bend OR

Thrown Together was born from a conversation at the studio about how we feast not just with our mouths, but with our eyes and with our hands. We, as potters, take great satisfaction in using ceramics to elevate our everyday lives. There is something special about making a homecooked meal and enjoying it on handmade, one-of-a-kind ceramics. This is the feeling we hope to share with you. Thrown Together is a feast for the eyes, mouths, hands and hearts.

Each dinner party consists of a 4 course meal served on 4 piece custom place settings created by Mud Lake members. Each unique setting will be chosen by you, the guests, and yours to take home, washed, dried, and wrapped, at the end of the night. Your place setting will consist of one large plate, one smaller plate, a bowl, and a drinking vessel, all carefully designed by a local potter and made to last. Guests will have a half hour upon arrival to admire all of the set options and chat with artists before making their selection and finding their seats. There will be one long table, and food will be served family style to enhance the communal, collaborative theme.

Eva Berg is a local personal chef and a potter here at Mud Lake Studios. She dreams in food. When she serves a meal, she thinks of everything; where it will be served, what the occasion is, what colors it will be, and what sort of presentation it deserves. This vision is something she brings into her pottery- sometimes the inspiration for a meal starts with the perfect bowl, sometimes the bowls are created just for a particular dish. In partnering with Boundless Farmstead here in Bend, Eva’s menu will be full of locally grown ingredients, and months worth of dreaming. Check out Eva’s website here: https://www.evaberg-personalchef.com/ and Boundless Farmstead here: https://www.boundlessfarmstead.com/ .

We are feeling very lucky to be able to hold this dinner party at The Winery at Manzanita and host alongside our friends Mark and Violet. As you probably already know, The Winery at Manzanita is Oregon wine at it’s absolute finest. Valuing quality over quantity, they specialize in small-batch fermentation, and all of their Pinot noir-based wines come from their own organic grapes grown in Carlton, OR. Read more about their story here: https://www.bendwinebar.com/about .

For this event, The Winery at Manzanita will be offering a thoughtful wine pairing for each of the four courses. Violet and Eva have worked closely to choose the very best flavor combinations to enhance your experience. Add the wine pairing option to your ticket purchase to partake! All of their wines plus a selection of PNW beer, cider and NA beverages will be available for purchase day of as well. No BYOB.

Thank you for your interest in the Thrown Together dinner series. With your ticket purchase, you will be supporting not only our studio artists, but 4 small businesses here in Bend.

We hope you will join us!

Note: All photos are from our Thrown Together event this past November. The pottery pictured will not be what is offered in May, but should give you an idea of the creativity and craftsmanship you can expect at each dinner party.
